Managing Health & Safety Risks in your Mill

Working on a mill has risks and every miller must know how to work safely. A lot has to do with safety awareness, precautionary measures and work according top safety protocols.

Jon Cook gave an introduction to highlight a number of key risks in a working mill, including hygiene, flour dust, vacuum equipment and fire risks. We discussed good practice to manage these risks. Jippe Kreuning explored how to work with a stone crane and how to operate it safely to lift a set of millstones.

We organised breakout rooms and let people share experiences and best practices.
